Choosing a Camera
Choosing a camera is the first decision that needs to be made when deciding on a video format for final delivery of your footage. Two general considerations are Standard Definition (SD Format) and High Definition (HD Format).
When we consider SD and HD formats, there are a number of different types of outputs that should be considered.
Footage is most often output, but not limited to, the following examples:
• SD footage intended for playback on a standard (4:3 ratio) television.
• SD footage intended for playback on a computer screen (square pixels).
• HD footage intended for playback on a widescreen (16:9 ratio) or flat panel display.
• HD footage intended for playback on a computer screen (square pixels).
The choices above refer to two types of cameras widely available today in many formats and price ranges. SD and HD cameras. Further consideration needs to be extended to the type of editing software you will be using.
